Question
I have numbers on my phone bill that no one has dialled how can this be?
Answer
That can actually happen if you have a fault on your Telephone Line .brbrThe specific Fault is called quot Foreign Battery quot in simple terms it means that your line and another persons line have a resistive connection Normally due to a wet cable connection , or faulty cable in the street brbrAsk your carrier to do a Line Test on your service , If it comes up as faulty have it repaired and then get the details of the fault so you can dispute your bill .brbrCabling to your home is often in a Multi situation , That is Your line may appear at the demarcation point of someone elses home nearby , If they have worked that out , They are probably running up calls on your line instead of their own !brbrAnother situation , however this one is very rare these days is if you have a Cordless Phone that does NOT use a security code .brbrIf someone else nearby to your home has a cordless phone on the exact same frequency as your cordless , It is possible that they get your line when they go quot Off Hook quot on their cordless phone .brbrThe last and most unlikely reason is that an Employee of your Carrier is using your line at the Telephone Exchange or in the street cabinet pillar cross conections to make their personal calls , But since they would normally have access to , lines in most exchange areas , That is very unlikely .
